Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD) was established by the government on Thursday, June 3, 2010. Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to appoint Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar as chairman. Mohd. Nur Ismal Mohamed Kamal as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Public Transport Commission Act 2010 and the Land Public Transport Act 2010 passed in the 2010 session of Parliament. SPAD purpose is to increase the country’s public transportation system into the National Key Result Areas (NKRA).
